Five goals for five year administration based on the market economy and pragmatic ideas.

Those goals are revitalization of the market economy,

the development of human resources,

natural globalization,

a comprehensive welfare policy and

establishing a government to humbly serve the people.

 

The ceremony will proceed with the playing of the national anthem, the inaugural orth,a performance by a military band  an inspection of a guard of honor followed by gun salutes and an inaugural address.

 

 

In the future that I envisage for Korea, the government serve it’s people with devotion. the economy is robust and the weak and marginalized are taken care of and labor and management collaborate in harmony.

 

He appealed to the people to move to an age of pragmatism and away from an era of 1deology.

During his speech , he vowed to pursue a small government and big market; active privatization; tax cuts; reduction of government payroll; positive, preventive welfare; education reform; and a strategic alliance with United States alongside an Asia-focused diplomacy and pragmatic inter-Korean relations.

Opening of the market to the foreign sector is an avoidable mega-trend.

Positive, preventive welfare policies

Strategic alliance with the Unites States.

Asia- focused diplomacy.

Pragmatic inter- Korean relations.

 

Such an economy as ours which depends so much on exports, should increase our national wealth through free trade regimes.

Most of all, the new President is expected to put priority on urging the national assembly to ratify an FTA with the United States as early as possible.

Lee described economic revitalization as the nation’s “most urgent” task, saying, “new engine of growth must emerge assuredly.”

Labor strike have sharply abated in advanced economies.

We must end the era of strife and open an era of companionship.

Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is a prerequisite to aid to the north.

He reiterated his campaign pledge foe a small but efficient government.

Lee exchanged greeting with domestic and foreign dignitaries and saw off outgoing President Roh Moo-hyun in front of the Assembly.

 

It is really wonderful and moving ceremony, a beautiful speech by the President.
